To my London Trainers

Imagine
Dear trainers, Here there are my commitments for the years to come: As a teacher I will definitely integrate many things I have learned in London in my teaching.   Google rocks and rolls(!)   and gives all teachers the possibility to keep in touch, to be in touch with most recent changes. The “engrade” platform or other similar will soon become useful tools in the students’ evaluation, as well as an instrument of communication between school and parents, teachers and students, school and community, secure and safe, very updated and reliable. I particularly liked the Rubistar invention, and this comes as a bless in disguise for many of us that have been struggling for years to measure and shade different performances of our students for whom critical thinking and objectivity must become prerequisites of their further development. I will do my best to seed in them the curiosity for new discoveries, to encourage them to give way to all their creativity, to remain en...
AUDIO BASED LEARNING ACTIVITY LEVEL - intermediate, 7 th or 8 th grade; SKILLS - speaking, listening, writing Introduction: This activity is connected to the students’ prior knowledge referring to the use of past tenses in short talks about past activities. They have to mind the correct use of auxiliary DID and the short infinitive of the verb, as well as the correct use o the past tense of irregular verbs. Most of the times, for the sake of fluency, people “sprinkle” their speech with fillers, linkers, collocations that contribute to a better fluency. Task: A student (voluntarily or not) will have to record himself/herself talking about what he/she did last weekend. Based on his/her speech, the students in the classrooms will have to use affirmative and negative sentences to talk about their assumptions pertaining to their peer’s last weekend activities. The skills practiced include: writing (questions), listening (to someone’s speaking), speaking (the...

WebQuest

This afternoon, four teachers met at the National Library and talked about the impact of their training upon their present teaching. Among them, me included. We are surely changed and we want this to be obvious. After complaining about the difficulties in making things work out, we enjoyed a nice cup of coffee and a delicious chocolate-covered- cocoa-mousse that made our neurons go wild. Full of admiration when glancing at some Conservatory musicians having a show in the hall, we headed home, our heads swarming with ideas. Our trainers encouraged us to think out a list of commitments. I haven't finished it yet, but after all, aren't all big things made up of small-stepped actions?! Here is a tiny little proof: my first webquest which went on and on forever....probably not the best idea today, but one that can be improved tomorrow. I myself find real joy in my readings and I am perfectly aware my students will not cheer with joy at that, but the exams such as IELTS, SAT, TOEFL ...

The Human Robot

The teacher looks through augmented reality glasses at her young learners’ avid faces. They wait for her to whisper knowledge not found in technology clouds. It has always been this way. The sheer happiness of people being challenged will never end. Mankind future does mirror in her learners’ curious eyes! (august 2013)

Viata este filmul, destinul e rolul pe cere ți-l da regizorul! Modul în care un om își accepta destinul este mai important decât însuși destinul sau. ( Wilhelm von Humboldt)
